Co-development of a methodological assessment framework
On 2nd of July 2015 VITO, CML and D’Appolonia will host a workshop in Brussels with experts in environmental and economic assessment.
The main goal of the workshop is to discuss with internal and external experts specific methodological issues of an integrated environmental and economic assessment framework aimed at HISER solutions for construction and demolition waste consisting of complex stony fractions, gypsum plasterboards or waste wood.
The LCA/LCC framework for HISER case studies will primarily be based on the expertise of the research partners and will be, as much as possible, in line with most important normative references. The following topics will be discussed during the workshop:
· TOPIC 1: Complexity of defining the functional unit in function of the HISER case studies.
· TOPIC 2: Weighting approaches of environmental impact category scores.
· TOPIC 3: Hybrid approach to integrate LCIA and LCC results.
· TOPIC 4: End-of-life and co-product allocation issues, regarding the integration of LCC and LCIA results.
· TOPIC 5: Avoiding different results using different LCA software and generic LCI databases.
