Novel methods of efficient glass waste management as a part of HISER’s “circular approach” were presented during the last edition of the GLASS Industry Fair, which was held from 22 till 25 of November, 2017 in Poznań, Poland.

The main objective of the presentation was to promote significant benefits of “circular economy approach” in construction sector as a part of HISER’s philosophy. The abstract was mainly focused on most advanced current research works for cement production technologies conducted within HISER’s agenda. From the general idea of circular approach in construction and demolition waste management to details of recovering glass waste to be used as a raw material in cement production, the presentation indicated economic advantages of new technology application.

With the wide audience, the presentation initiated a live discussion and series of questions on possible terms of implementation process for the novel type of cement produced with the use of glass cullet as a raw material. According to preliminary research’ results, exerting profitability of new raw materials’ application, the new cement is supposed to be much more efficient than its predecessor.

The presentation was prepared by experts from ASM – Market Research and Analysis Centre, partner of HISER project. The project was also promoted at the booth.
